Duration and Cost (Non-degree program)

The length of stay is from a month up to one year, and is negotiated depending on the outcomes required from the visit.

The status of the visitor and the conditions of the visit are also negotiated depending on the level of the visitor, their current position and the nature of the activities.

Participants are expected to be fully supported by a grant or sponsoring agency or an IRRI managed project.

Non-degree training fees are negotiated on a case-by-case basis but for planning purposes, the cost is  approximately US$1,700 per month per participant. This covers board and lodging, a modest stipend, local travel, group accident/medical insurance, training supplies, services, and use of facilities.

The sponsors in this program are expected to provide international airfare (if required), shipping allowance, and enroute expenses to its participants.

Because these costs vary depending on the individual involved and the nature of the visit, details of these costs will be discussed during organization of the visit.
